Manchester United ace plans new eco-home
Manchester United striker-turned coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has
submitted plans to knock down a cottage in Cheshire to make way for
a state-of-the-art eco-home.
Norway international Solskjaer has submitted plans to Macclesfield
council for the home, which will include heavy natural insulation
to minimise its energy wastage, energy-efficient ground source heat
pumps and low-volume flush to limit water usage.
The plans for the proposed two-storey manor house, which has been
conceived by Manchester-based planners Indigo, also include a games
room, a separate swimming pool building and en-suite
bedrooms.
If approved the home would go up if place of a 50-year old cottage
in Knutsford, which Solskjaer bought for £1.8 million last
year.
Solskjaer retired as a player two months ago after a long battle
with a persistent injury sustained celebrating his equalising goal
in Manchester United's famous 1999 Champions League victory.
