Number of tenants for buy to let properties rise over Q3

The number of people looking to rent a buy
to let property has risen over the third quarter of 2010.
According to figures released by Countrywide last week, there was a
19 per cent increase in how many tenants registered for rental
accommodation during Q3 of 2010, taking the total number to
61,000.
These findings reveal that during 2010, there has been a rise of 44
per cent in the number of people seeking to rent buy
to let properties.
In July 2010, there were 20,000 applications, representing the
greatest demand for rental properties in Countrywide's
records.
This comes after Paragon reported earlier in the month that four
out of ten landlords considered there to more interest from tenants
during the third quarter of the year.
Countrywide also found that while the demand for properties has
increased, the number of places available to rent dropped by 6.9
per cent during the period compared with the previous
quarter.
